Fund Raising for Children's Homes

This web page is built to encourage people and businesses to get involved in helping Orphan,
abused, neglected and needy children in our communities.

My Name is Louis Kearney and I had the privilege of visiting one such home in the East of Pretoria
on Saturday morning. There were 8 kids present with the fill-in house mother who are looking after
the children over the weekend while the House mom and Dad are off for the weekend.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a very normal home, occupied by lovely yet busy little
children aged between 6 and 12 years of age. We found most of them out in the garden while 2
were jumping on the trampoline, one was racing around the garden on a bicycle while two girls were
wrestling for the privilege to play with one toy.

The children were warmly dressed, happy and enjoying each other as friends. They obviously felt
very secure in their surroundings and the security of house rules which need to adhere to.

While we were having cake and tea in the Dining room one cute guy joined us out of his own.
"Ouma" asked him what the house rules were when there are visitors, and he excused himself.
Soon afterwards the children all joined us in the dining room around the large dining room table.
They seriously got stuck into the cake and eats which is not something they often have since
many of them are by nature hyper active.

I am personally making an appeal to business men and woman to get involved in looking after and
sponsoring these homes.

They can use anything that you do not need anymore, from coffee cups, to unused toys, clothes,
food and money. They receive a government grant of around R480 p.m. per child while the true
need per child is around R2800 per month.

Call me and lets get involved-this is a great way to mean something to others!
